Coloring calendar

Give a child a calendar to draw on: the generator puts a real month grid on the lower part of the sheet and frames a blank panel above it for the picture. Hand it over with crayons, and the result is a working calendar with original art on top. Any month and year, Letter or A4, printed at the true size of the paper.

How this coloring calendar works

The top two-fifths of the sheet is a blank framed drawing panel, and the month grid fills the lower part with every date in its usual cell. Choose any month and year, then Letter or A4 to match your paper, and Sunday or Monday as the first day of the week. The readout shows the sheet size, the month, the number of week rows and the week start before you print.

It runs on the same engine as the calendar generator. The sheet is drawn as SVG in real millimeter units, and when you print, the page gives the dialog the exact dimensions of the paper you chose, so your browser lays the drawing onto paper of a known size. To keep a file, choose Save as PDF in the same dialog. The coloring layout shortens the grid to open the panel above it, and the panel's frame is a thin hairline so the empty space looks intended. Week rows, week start and paper size all update as you change them, and nothing you set here leaves the page: there is no upload, no account, and no watermark in the corner of a child's picture.

The panel is left empty for the child's own picture, with no outline printed in it. Ordinary copy paper takes crayon and colored pencil well, but alcohol markers bleed through it, so for markers use cardstock or put a scrap sheet underneath. Because the grid shares the page with the panel, its cells are shorter than in the standard layout: the dates stay clear, but there is less room to write long entries. Keep the print dialog's scale at 100%, because fit-to-page shrinks the measurements the sheet is drawn to.

Frequently asked questions

What is a coloring calendar?
A single-sheet month calendar with a blank drawing panel above the grid. A child draws or colors the top section, and the calendar below stays fully usable, with dates in the right cells, printed at the paper's true size. Families and classrooms make them as keepsakes: the calendar is used for its month, and the drawing is what gets kept.
Can I make a coloring calendar for any month?
Yes. Set any month and year from 1900 to 2200 and the grid recomputes at once; the layout works the same for a birthday month in June as for December. For US federal holidays marked in the grid, use the ready-made month pages for September 2026 through December 2028 linked below; each has the coloring layout one control away.
Will markers bleed through the paper?
It depends on the marker and the paper. Alcohol markers will bleed through standard 20 lb copy paper almost every time, so print on cardstock for those or keep a scrap sheet underneath. Water-based school markers usually hold, though heavy fills can shadow through, and crayons and colored pencils sit safely on ordinary copy paper.
Is the calendar part still usable after the drawing space is added?
Yes. Every date stays in its correct cell and the weekday header stays in place. The cells are just shorter, so each one has less writing room. If you need roomy cells for appointments, switch Layout to Standard here, or print from the calendar generator.
Why is the drawing area blank instead of a picture to color in?
The blank panel leaves the picture to the child. A pre-printed outline decides what the picture is before the child starts, and it spends your ink printing someone else's drawing; a picture the child made from scratch is what makes the sheet a keepsake. This tool does not make conventional coloring-book pages with outlined scenes.
